Jay attended the University of Missouri-St. Louis where he received a B.S. in Criminology. He then attended Syracuse University, where he received his Juris Doctor in 2005. He has been practicing law in Maryland ever since, and in D.C. since 2006.

Prior to his current position, Jay worked as an Associate at a Bethesda law firm, and eventually became a managing partner until leaving to start his own practice.

Jay is currently a solo practicioner. He works for himself, and therefore has more time to devote to each individual client without dealing with the hassles of a large office. He represents clients exclusively in criminal, serious traffic, and protective/peace order matters.

Jay is an auto enthusiast and avid tennis player, and enjoys golf, hockey, and baseball: especially watching his beloved Blues and Cardinals on TV and when they visit Washington.
